This afternoon, three of the SNAPPS Quickr Templates were revved to 8.1.0.1a, after a minor fix to one of the workflow placebots that had not been updated on August 13 (my fault!). Be sure to grab the downloads for QPresent, QAnnounce, and QIssues.

What is an RSS (or Atom) Feed?

As we mentioned in the previous entry, you can use the RSS feed for this blog to make it easy to keep up with the updates to this site. But some of you might be wondering what an RSS feed actually is. If you're not familiar with RSS, here's a fun primer:

(If your browser settings blocked the embedded video above, it's a YouTube video called RSS in Plain English.)

Feeds are becoming more prevalent and more important on the Internet as a way to allow people to pull information on demand. There's also another type of feed format called Atom that is used quite heavily in Quickr, both as a way to get information and (in some cases) update and create information. More on that in a future blog entry.

Welcome to the QuickrTemplates blog!

As part of the recent QuickrTemplates.com site redesign, we've added a blog to make it easy for you to keep up with new content on the site. This will also give us the ability to publish tips and tidbits of information that might not have a logical home on any of the other QuickrTemplates pages.

The easiest way to keep up will be to subscribe to the RSS feed at:

http://templates.snapps.com/QTBlog.nsf/feed.rss

You can plug this feed URL into a news aggregator -- like Google Reader, Bloglines, Newsgator, or even the RSS feed reader in the Notes 8 Standard client -- and then you'll always be updated with our latest content. The old tried-and-true method of bookmarking the blog homepage and refreshing it every so often will work just fine too.

Also, please check out the new sections on QuickrTemplates.com while you're here. In addition to the Downloads page that holds all of our free Quickr templates, there's also a Support page that gives you some options for getting help with the Quickr templates, along with an Info Center that will be updated regularly with general information about Quickr and related technologies.

We hope you enjoy the new site!
